Fight the Hunger

How many times does the average person have to worry about food? Beings that the U.S is in a financial crisis, there are a lot of uncertainties about were the next meal may come from. It’s another thing for an adult to worry about necessary needs in life, including how to pay the bills, and shop for food, but the people that really have to carry that burden in the U.S are the children. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture,  17.5 million family’s lack the resources to provide the needed amount of food for everyone .  There is also an additional amount of 6.5 children who have experienced the disruption of eating normally, due to the lack of food. Most of this activity is shown in African American, and Latino communities, 1 in 3 children spend the day without eating a good meal. These results are shocking and epidemic. Although these things are happening, there are ways that it is being prevented. The nonprofit group Feeding America has over 200 food banks around the U.S, They are giving out meals on a daily bases. There are many ways that we as a society can contribute to this problem. We can easily give our time to the local food banks and volunteer, or we can go to our local soup kitchen and see the action up close. The other side game

Inspiration is something that can be viewed from many different angles. Some people get inspired by movies, books and other types of entertainment. But some people just get inspired by other environments and different cultures. Culture is the thing that defines one thing from another. Culture is important to me because it is the thing that mixes everybody together. No matter what a person is, everybody can relate back to that one element. Ever since I was little, I have been able to come together and congregate with different cultures. The main cultures that I have been able to relate to more, is Mexican culture and Filipino culture. Being that California has a huge Hispanic presence to it, the culture has been easy to grasp. Whether it is learning the language, or learning how to work and cook their food. They are the biggest culture that I have came across in my life time, so it is easy to have a good understanding to them. The other culture is Filipino culture, because just like Mexican culture, I have grew up with them throughout my life . I have also been able to relate more with their culture because it is very similar to mine. There are many things that we have in common.

The best place

Communities have been one of the most important elements of anybody’s wellbeing. When you think of a community, what comes to mind? Most people think of a close tight nit second family that has each other’s back through thick and thin. These are all examples of what a community is supposed to be. My community is the church. I have grown up in that community since birth. Unlike most communities, the church community is a place where anybody can join. Regardless of race, creed, or gender. Interaction is one of the best things to consider when coming to this community. When we all connect together, wonderful things start to happen. Everybody that is part of this community will benefit from everything. Because this community is so tight and close, sometimes problems will come up. Whether it is a disagreement or a misunderstanding. Just like any other group, people will not always get along. It is natural to not always agree on everything, confrontations might even come up. But at the end of the day everybody forgets about everything and gets along. Even though there are a lot of things that come up, I still enjoy it. I love the fact that people can come from all around and receive the love that they need. I also love how nobody will get judged. The church community is a great thing all around.
